Update - Monday, July 14

There's not a whole lot of new news to report. Paul is about the same at the Baylor Specialty Hospital, still breathing without the aid of his tracheotomy tube, and doing various therapies during the day. We've been giving him things to smell, like coffee, garlic and cinnamon, and sometimes he seems to respond to these favorite aromas. He's definitely never gone this long without caffeine. :-)

It's been 4 weeks now, and we really appreciate all your love and support (and your comments).

"Faith is the realization, on looking at what seems only strewn before us, that it has instead been set before us, and that it doesn't block our way, but IS our way." -Paul Greenberg

What a fabulous quotation. I don't know Paul, or anyone else who posts, but have found myself following this site and brimming with hope for Paul. I feel connected in this way (brace yourself for karmic shivers)...

I was an art director for 10 years in Syracuse NY. I lived only 4 mi. from downtown, so I rode my bike through the city frequently, to work sometimes, and for general exercise or transportation. I was even hit by a car once, in the Adirondacks. A driver turned into me without signalling and splayed me into a grocery store parking lot... but I was lucky enough to get up in a short time. I suffered only a temporary concussion & a longterm (but mild) back injury.

So you see, though I've never met Paul, he's got to be kin. Though I don't know him, I feel sure he'd agree. He appears to be on my same life channel, so I know he's getting up... just on his own terms. Turn up your light a little more each day, Paul. This world needs as many vibrant creative minds as it can get! Peace to your family, meanwhile.

I do not post regularly, but I am keeping up via the blog and praying on a regular basis. Thanks for keeping us informed. Godspeed for waking up and full recovery.

Paul,

We are guessing that some of your other favorite aromas might be tools of the design trade such as DesignMarkers and Spray Mount. And that wonderful smell of ink on paper as it comes off the press! Watch out. We're coming over with a load of art supplies and press sheets.
