Update Thursday June 19

First of all, thank you for all your prayers and good wishes. It helps a great deal. We met with doctors yesterday and they confirmed that the injuries to Paul's brain are very serious, and the most important thing is that he wake up as soon as possible. They have removed the neck brace and given him a shave, so he's looking good. And his vital signs are all stable as well. Thanks so much for all your love and support and keep the comments coming. We have printed them out and read them to him periodically, which is great. The doctors have asked for visitation to be very limited and quiet today, as he has been through some tests and is in deep rest.

Thank you all SO much.

With love and gratitude,
The Jerde and Hatfield families

Hey everyone,

We all prayed as a family for Paul today~ Jack (6), Harry (3) Brad (on speaker at work), and me. We are praying throughout each day for full recovery. Jack would love for Buzz to come play soon. please let us know how we can help.

Paul-

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Please wake up quickly!!! Just think, when you do wake up, you can put on some of those crazy socks you love to wear.

To Paul's Family-

If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I am off work next week and am more than happy to provide support in whatever manner is needed.

Much love,

I came here through Willie's blog. I don't know you, but your tragedy touches me because I feel we're all connected in a bigger way. This was a senseless accident and I'm sure all of you have asked the same question over and over..."Why?" It's so hard to make sense out of things like this, but know that there's strength in numbers and hopefully you'll feel all the prayers being sent your way and directly to Paul. I'll sit silently for a moment after I post this and I'll ask Paul to wake up because he has so much to live for. And try to be strong for him. He'll feel it and grab onto it. Wishing you all peace in your hearts as you help your friend through this tough time.

Blessings,
